How can i keep track of a cruise being close to selling out?
Hi. First time cruiser, going along with other families. I am hoping to find some great last minute deals (cruise not till july) but i am finding that room blocks are different depending on where you book. i wish it were as easy as checking the carnival site to see what rooms are still avail but i am finding that they have different rooms avail, travel agents have others, cruise and travel sites have even more different ones. how can i tell if a cruise is close to selling out and i shouldn't wait to book? thanks!

If you plan on cruising in July, I would book the cruise now. Carnival will have no problem filling the ship during that month. Remember, school is closed and families are traveling during July. Try to book the early saver rate with Carnival. I have done that several times and saved money. One good site to get good cruise deals is http://vacationstogo.com/index.cfm

Hope I helped!

There are lots of cruise deals and savings on at the moment with most operators and agents. Most deals will end either at the end of January or end of February. I would always say contact your local travel agent for availability on cabins and best pricing as if you have a particular cruise in mind and have been quoted a certain price by another agent or online, the travel agent would more than likely be able to match the price, offer additional benefits like on-board spend and you also get the piece of mind of speaking to someone who has many years experience in cruising which I think is extremely useful if you have not cruised before. If you are going as a group further discounts may be on offer too
so its worth shopping around.
Hope this helps and you have a great time

Don't wait, but book NOW. The best prices are those that book the most in advance. Waiting is just Taking too much of a chance, especially during the summer months. What you can do is ask your agent to keep a close watch on pricing. If the price goes down after you book, perhaps the cruise company will then give you that price. But the chances of a price going down as the sailing date gets closer is just not too likely. It has been proven over and over that last minute bookings are not the way to get the best price.

Chances of waiting to snag a good deal are mostly opportunities of the past. the earliest bookings usually get the best deals these days. Also, if you are booked and the price goes down, if you are working with an agent, they can usually get your cost adjusted. Not likely that you are going to find a way to know about a ship being sold out. Even the cruise lines don't know as there are a lot of temporary holds out there that may turn into bookings or released.

All you can do is keep calling the cruise line and check the current availability.
Good Luck
